Kitten's Playpen review.

Kitten's Playpen is one of the most popular and famous petplay gear website on the internet. They sell all kinds of ears,tails collars, and other cutesy items. Although not all of the reviews of this site are good, which is part of the reason why I have been hesitant to order from them. But on the 16th of February 2017 I saw that they were selling off some products with minor defects at fairly reasonable prices so I decided to bite the bullet and place an order with them. Here is a full review of my experience. I hope you enjoy reading and remember, all of these opinions are my own, I am not getting paid for this and I used my own money to purchase the item.

I ordered "Ear surprise bag (imperfections)" which cost 15 Canadian Dollars. Due to me living in England the shipping was an extra 13.50, making the total 23.50 which is still significantly less than the other in-stock items on the store and a heck of a lot less than the custom orders.

The first problem I ran into when ordering from this site is that there was no way to make the shipping and billing addresses different. Maybe its because I was using the mobile version of the site but no matter how hard I tried it would keep putting the same address in both boxes and I didn't want my order shipping to my house. They accepted the payment anyway despite the billing address being different to my actual billing address.

The site itself has an option to create an account in order for you to be able to track your orders. As someone who is very impatient and likes to know what is going on I did this. However I soon realised that the account area of the site is practically impossible to find on the mobile version on the website, leading me to go through the email every time I wanted to check the status of my order. another issue I have with this part of the site is it is not very easy to understand. On the 24th of February it updated to say "In stock handmade order" which is very vague and I had to email the site to find out what this meant. Due to them not replying to emails on weekends I did not get a reply until Wednesday stating that the status of the order would be updated to "shipped" when the item has been shipped, but not really explaining what they meant.

To be honest I thought that ordering an already made, in stock item would mean that the waiting time would not be as long as the moths that people had waited for their custom orders as all they had to do was package it and send it off. However this does not appear to be the case at all!

The ears arrived to my boyfriend's house on the 28th of April, over 2 months after the order was made! However I wasn't able to actually get my ears until 20th of may due to timing issues of us meeting up and such.

The box the ears came in was decorated with a cute bunny sticker and a Kittens Playpen branded fragile sticker. It was a plain brown box filled with tissue paper to keep the ears safe. the package also included cute illustrated washing and care instructions, and some information on returns and where to leave feedback as well as a lollipop which was a nice touch.

The ears themselves are adorable, with dark grey outsides and blue insides. It would have been nice to gave some kind of information about the ears such as what animal they were supposed to be (I think wolf. my friend thinks cat). They are very well made and very very fluffy. The fur is very good quality and the colours complement each other well. Despite these ears being "imperfect" I so far haven't found any technical issues with them. My only issues with the ears themselves is that the headband they have been put on is black, and as someone with blonde hair this isn't really idea for me since it will stand out rather badly against my hair, but that is just personal preference.

Overall I would say that my experience ordering from kittens playpen wasn't a bad one. Once the ears eventually arrived they were really nice, although I cant speak for everyone ordering from them, especially people who have ordered custom ears, I would say that if you can afford it you should order from kittens playpen. I personally will not be ordering from them again unless they make something I really fall in love with as there are other shops that make nice ears and customs who are much cheaper and have lower shipping costs and times. But by all means order from them and form your own opinion on them.
